Job Description

One of our client medical firms is in urgent need of Oncology Nurse with 5 or more years of experience to work within Brisbane, Queensland. Position is a permanent one. Brisbane, Australia's third largest city and capital of Queensland is famous for its remarkable climate all year round, decent street cafés, riverside parks, busy cultural calendar that boasts international sporting events and a brilliant nightlife. The amalgamation of 'fun and sun' is always the main charm of the city and it is also the arts capital of Queensland with loads of galleries, museums, cinemas, theatres and concert halls. Its close proximity to countless Queensland's chief tourist destinations has turned it in into a Mecca for visitors to Australia. To live and work here can be an amazing experience.
Responsibilities Include:
  • Must work with physicians and other members of interdisciplinary teams to take care of patients with cancer
  • Must possess a lot of compassion and personal strength to deal with patients suffering from such a profound illness as cancer
  • Must take care of the critically or chronically ill cancer patients
  • Must administer chemotherapy, implement new methods of symptom treatment and monitor their patients' progress
  • Must create a supportive environment
  • May opt to specialize in areas such as pediatric hematology/oncology or breast cancer
  • Must educate cancer patients about treatment options, procedures and exactitudes of the disease
  • Must possess emotional stability to help patients and their families work through the treatment process and cope with death if treatment fails

Job Requirements

Education and Licensure Requirements:
  • Must have 5 + years RN experience, specifically in Medical Oncology (this is essential
  • Must possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Must demonstrate a high standard of patient focused care
  • Must be self-motivated with the ability to work autonomously within a team environment
  • Flexible working conditions

  • Professional development and training opportunities to keep up to date with current clinical practices within a rapidly developing organisation
  • Must be registered with AHPRA
  • Must be a post graduate
  • Must hold a valid passport
  • Must be committed to professional development

  • Must have a driving license ( Queensland eligibility)
