Position DetailsVPSG6 range $116,863 – $156,387 p.a. + super + leave loadingFull time / OngoingWorking within the Operations Support Division, located at Crime Command, Spencer Street, DocklandsAbout the RoleThe function of Crime Command is to conduct high level specialist investigations to detect, disrupt and prevent serious and organised crime. Crime Command’s key goals are to minimise the harm caused to the Victorian Community by serious and organised crime; create a hostile environment for crime; increase community confidence in our ability to prevent and reduce crime; and develop and build our investigative standards, capability and response.The role of the Business Manager is to support the key functions of the Command through the provision of quality and high level business support services including workgroup administrative support, budget and financial administration, human resource management, information technology and security services, business planning, risk and auditing and training and development. The role also facilitates the provision of property and exhibit management services for Crime Command, Counter Terrorism Command, Intel & Covert Command and North West Metro Division 1.The Business Manager is a member of the Command’s Executive Leadership team and is also the Chair of the Command’s Risk and Audit Committee and a member of the Local Professional Standards Committee, 313 Building Security and 313 Tenancy Committee.As the Successful ApplicantThe successful applicant will possess high level knowledge and skills across a broad portfolio of functions to support the dynamic Crime Command operating environment including a solid understanding of financial and budget management planning, excellent people management skills and outstanding leadership skills to effectively manage a diverse workgroup delivering corporate support services.Some of your duties will include;Managing the Business Services function for Crime Command delivering quality business outcomes in supporting the operating environment consistent with the strategic direction of the organisation;Accountability for the delivery of high quality, cost effective and efficient business services in support of management initiatives;Incorporating best practice systems and processes for the delivery of a range of business support functions;Initiate and manage negotiations with stakeholders both internal and external to gain commitment to projects and delivery meet time-lines;Develop clear, concise reports and provide recommendations, options or solutions on highly complex issues; &Manage and lead a diverse team in a dynamic and complex working environment.Skills and ExperienceAs the successful applicant, you will have;Proven ability to provide strategic direction across a broad range of resource management functions;Proven understanding of the policing environment;Proven experience and expertise in people management;Demonstrate sound judgement and ethical behaviour in daily working practices;Ability to build and maintain key stakeholder relationships;Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;Proven ability to interpret and provide advice on broad legislative issues; &Have an understanding of the core values of the organisation.Requirements and Relevant InformationFor positions within Crime Command, the successful candidate must be prepared to undergo and successfully obtain and maintain a National Security Clearance to the level determined by the Department Head.
