The E7 Programs Division in Boeing Defence Australia develops and sustains the world-leading E7 Airborne Electronic Warfare and Control aircraft. Within the E7 Programs team, the Contracts team support the program in the commercial management of the program, including creating and placing contracts, ongoing negotiation and engagement with the customer, and managing the contracts that underpin the successful execution of the program.

About the opportunity

We are seeking a talented Contract Manager to support the E7 Programs. You will be responsible for leading contracting activities, including developing and negotiating timely and quality proposals leading to contract administration/execution. You will frequently manage key internal and external stakeholders, providing advice and guidance on complex contractual interpretations and negotiations. As the customer interface for contracting, you will directly deal with customers and their Contracts, Commercial and Legal advisors.

This is a temporary full time role for 12 months based in Brisbane or Newcastle. Working remotely and from home is an available option for this role.

About the role

  • Exercises appropriate signature authority in negotiating and contracting for the sale and support of aerospace products, services, technologies, financing and the licensing of intellectual property to support company strategies.
  • Presents business solutions to preserve and expand the business.
  • Represents the company in external negotiations to a diverse set of customers.
  • Authority to prepare, negotiate, execute, interpret and administer legally binding complex contractual agreements for The Boeing Company.
  • Coordinates and partners with other internal functional disciplines.
  • Summarises complex contractual issues, develops creative solutions and manages contractual risk mitigation.

About you

To be successful in this role you will have a collaborative team approach, well developed analytical skills and excellent written and verbal skills.You must be someone who can work autonomously who is comfortable driving continuous improvement.

  • Essential:
    • Formal qualifications in a related discipline (Law, Accounting or Business Management). A formal qualification in law is highly desirable.
    • At least 5 years' experience in complex contracting or contract management roles;
    • Demonstrated skills in negotiation, contract management, and procurement lifecycle;
    • Strong planning and organizational skills;
    • Demonstrated stakeholder engagement and management skills;
  • Desirable:
    • Prior knowledge of the Australian Standard Defence Contracting Suite of Templates;
    • Strong commercial acumen
    • Excellent drafting skills
    • Demonstrated experience in formulating innovative contractual and commercial acquisition and sustainment strategies for proposals
    • Up to date legal/Contracts law knowledge of IP, liabilities, insurance, and indemnities
