Purpose of the role
To plan, lead, operationally manage and deliver all activities of Clinical Information Systems Support Unit – Pharmacy team, in order to provide efficient and effective maintenance and development of state-wide pharmacy-specific Information, Communication and Technology (ICT) systems, and support to the users of the systems Provide expert professional advice to the Department of Health, Medication Services Queensland, and the Directors of Pharmacy Services Advisory Committee and Hospital and Health Services (HHS), on specialised issues relating to the development, maintenance and use of pharmacy-specific ICT systems. Lead the development of relationships regarding pharmacy-specific ICT systems with stake holders both state-wide and interstate and with software providers. The Manager, CISSU Pharmacy in the Pharmacy Team may at times report to different roles within CISSU.
Your key responsibilities will include:
Fulfil the responsibilities of this role in accordance with the Queensland Public Service values (QPS) along with the following accountabilities:

* Adhere to defined service quality standards, health and safety policies and procedures relating to the work being undertaken in order to ensure high quality, safe services and workplaces.
* Operationally manage and lead all aspects of the provision of client support, capable of providing high quality, effective and efficient support to users of pharmacy-specific software across Queensland Health’s business, both within and outside the pharmacy area.
* Establish and maintain collaborative partnerships between the CISSU Pharmacy team and clients within the Department of Health, eHealth, users of pharmacy software in other states, and also with the software vendor(s) supplying software for use within the pharmacy business. Advocate for the pharmacy business within such relationships, and ensure problems with system performance are identified and solved or escalated appropriately.
* Ensure that the CISSU Pharmacy team is managed in accordance with the Department of Health policies and procedures, including effective rostering, review of policy and procedure, risk management, performance appraisal plans and training programs and ensuring that resources required for development are bid for in accordance with Service Planning principles. Negotiate with, and respond to, internal and external auditors regarding the security, effectiveness, and financial probity of CISSU applications.

Mandatory qualifications/professional registration/other requirements

The successful applicant must hold a tertiary qualification, or equivalent, in Pharmacy, and be registered with the Pharmacy Board of Queensland.
