Wood is seeking applications from experienced Quality Control Engineers Civil (Earthworks & Concrete) for the Albemarle Kemerton Project. The Albemarle Kemerton Plant is a world scale, greenfield Lithium Hydroxide Monohydrate production plant to be located at the Kemerton Strategic Industrial Area approximately 160 km south of Perth, Western Australia, and 17 km north-east of the existing port town of Bunbury. The Albemarle Kemerton Plant will initially comprise of three (3) trains, each producing 20,000 tonnes per annum (tpa) Lithium Hydroxide Monohydrate. First product target by 2020. Expansion to five (5) trains will take the ultimate site production to 100,000 tpa by around 2025. Wood has been appointed by Albemarle to implement the Albemarle Kemerton Plant. The QC Engineer – Civil will report to the Lead Quality Engineer and will be responsible for ensuring QC compliance across all facets of the civil earthworks and concreting phases of the work, including offsite works (pre-cast, etc) and the construction phase of the project, including:Provide leadership to the EPCM QC team for all fabrication and multi disciplinary construction activitiesImplement EPCM quality processes and systems ensuring compliance to project requirements and progressive compilation of project documentationWork with Suppliers and Contractors to ensure project QC requirements are understood by all and suitable education programs are in placeMonitor the development and approval of Contractor Inspection Test Plans(ITP’s), Checklists(ITC’s) and Manufacturers Data Records (MDR’s). This will also include the compilation of supplier and subcontractor MDR’s into the project master documentsEnsure in field quality requirements are met in terms of both workmanship and documentation, Identifying issues and managing / mitigating appropriately;Review and register in the company quality control system all complaints received from customers (NCR’s), internal and external, and direct complex issues to Manager. Monitor NCR’s through to conclusionDocument quality issues and performance measures for management reviewDevelop and recommend inspection and sampling techniques, quality control plans or process control procedures Monitor and inspect fabrication / construction process against peoject specifications, drawings and related codes to ensure finished products meet quality specifications and standards design intentProvide technical assistance to purchasing staff in connection with the purchase of raw materials, supplies and equipment.Report on and address KPI’s for quality and NCR’sManage relationships and ways of working with key suppliers and subcontractors to ensure continuous improvement in the delivery of goods/services that meet business and project requirementsSupervise controls on receipt and acknowledgment of materials and supplies and the maintenance of quality control records and checklistsAnalyse and report of supplier / contractor performances (KPIs)7+ years as a Quality Control Engineer in an earthworks and concrete EPCM EnvironmentStrong Technical UnderstandingStrong Communication SkillsMust Show initiative, be conscientious and have a sense of urgencyStrong analytical and problem solving abilityExperience in managing a team of inspectors Candidates must have full work rights in Australia to be considered for this role.
