Lycopodium Infrastructure is an Australian Engineering and Project Management consultancy servicing a wide range of clients including Local and State Government and the private sector. In meeting growing demands across Victoria and the East Coast of Australia, we are on the search for an experienced Senior Project Engineer to join our team in our Mulgrave office.The successful candidate will provide support to the Operations Manager South in primarily facilitating the successful delivery of projects, but also on day to day operational tasks across marketing, client management, and other office management necessities.Some of the main responsibilities will include:Provide expert project support (planning, design and construct stages) addressing quality, budgetary, technical accuracy and HSE criteria.Contribute to the adoption (and optimisation where available) of various procedures, work practices, plans and protocols to ensure optimum efficiency, accuracy and consistency in project development.Effectively establish, maintain or grow client relationships (both on current contracts, and identified leads) to guarantee repeat business and future opportunities.Manage / supervise junior members of the project team in line with applicable project requirements, legislative requirements and current industry codes and standards.Advise the Operations Manager on matters that negatively affect the project goals, client relationships or the overall Lycopodium brand.Provide the necessary tendering support, including identification and assessment of opportunities, budgeting, development of methodologies and final submissions.The following skills and attributes will be looked upon favorably:Civil Engineering (or similar) qualification7+ years’ experience in the engineering and/or construction fields, preferably in Civil Engineering / Infrastructure Construction.Professional registration (or eligibility to work towards) with Engineers Australia or similar.Superior communication skills (both verbal and written).Clear understanding of the consulting environment, and an appreciation for the wide range of business demands.Scheduling and cost control ability using suitable software.Appreciation of contract standards, and an understanding of contract administration duties.Demonstrate an understanding and awareness of project implementation, constructability, OH&S, environmental, community and industrial relations issues.Capacity to evaluate work practices, suggest alternatives and refinements where necessary.Ability to perform with minimal supervision, with a high degree of consistency and accuracy.You will be joining a growing company with the goal of becoming a well-regarded and trusted provider of excellence in the engineering sector.
