American Express Global Merchant Services manage all aspects of our vitally important merchant relationship and is responsible for delivering a vibrant network by acquiring more American Express Card accepting small to medium sized enterprises in Australia.
We are recruiting a Telesales Executive to join our team in Sydney. In this key role, you will successfully acquire new merchants to our network by delivering value propositions with confidence via our outbound telephone channel.
This position requires a high level of motivation, initiative and prioritisation, in both proactively searching for new business opportunities through self-prospecting and also working leads delivered from within our business. You will be responsible for building and proactively managing a robust pipeline to ultimately exceed your sales targets and goals.

+ On the phone selling our merchant value proposition daily.
+ Through a mix of self-prospecting and lead management you will grow merchant acceptance and transaction volume on our network.
+ Consultative selling highlighting the benefits of American Express acceptance and leveraging tools like financial modelling and merchant marketing campaigns to demonstrate a superior understanding of merchant product solutions, our customer’s business, their competitive landscape and business environment.
+ Develop and maintain a high level of knowledge for merchant products, KYC, compliance and other processes.
+ Effective pipeline management from lead to activation.
+ Manager the merchant’s lifecycle billings for the first 13 months.
+ Engage with internal stakeholders to facilitate delivery of relevant initiatives.
+ A skilled communicator and true sales hunter who is driven and motivated by the win.
+ Ideally, experienced in phone-based acquisition or face to face sales.
+ Ability to negotiate and handle objections.
+ Energetic, resilient, self-motivated and excels in a performance driven environment.
+ Collaborative in a team environment, willing to share and learn best practices across the team.
+ Not afraid to challenge the status quo to drive successful outcomes and wins.
+ Financial services industry background is a plus.
+ Proven ability to independently drive and consistently deliver excellent results in a very challenging competitive environment.
