About Internal Audit Function

The Internal Audit function of AMP Limited and its Subsidiaries (AMP) provides independent, objective assurance services to assist AMP accomplish its objectives.

Internal Audit’s vision is to provide relevant, timely and insightful advice using a collaborative approach to help AMP achieve its objective and will do this by being:

  • Accountable by independently reviewing the controls and risk management practices
  • Bold by providing insightful, pragmatic and commercial suggestions to improve control environments
  • Connected and work with the, Internal Audit team member and professional associations to bring the outside in.
  • About the role

    In this role you will enjoy working within an energetic and high performing team that has exposure across the entire AMP group and has access to all levels of management and the Board.

    You will also enjoy contributing to new and innovative ways for working outside traditional audit approaches in order to support the Internal Audit team in the achievement of its vision and strategic annual audit plans, and provide independent, objective and insightful assurance over key areas of risk

    Your primary focus will be on wealth management but will also involve supporting the wider Australian and New Zealand retail businesses of AMP, including: AMP Australian Wealth Management (Advice / Superannuation, Retirement and Platforms); AMP Bank; AMP New Zealand Wealth Management.

    More specifically your responsibilities will include but not limited to.

  • Assist Portfolio Audit Managers with the delivery of internal audits in the context of the IA vision and strategic objectives
  • Determine business risks, the scope of the audit and budget as part of engagement planning
  • Develop the audit program and prepare the drat audit report
  • Prepare work papers supported by appropriate evidence and testing
  • Draft audit issues and present at stakeholder exit meetings
  • Oversee Assistant Managers and Seniors and provide on the job training
  • Build and maintain effective stakeholder relationships including external networks and audit professionals
  • What we look for in you:

  • Graduate qualifications ideally with a post graduate qualification.
  • Internal Audit Qualification (Graduate Certificate in Internal Auditing / CIA) membership of the IIA/Computer Audit Qualifications (CISA) would be well regarded
  • Ideally at least 5 years internal audit/assurance experience with a proven capability around adding value and insights
  • In depth understanding of the Australian Financial Services Industry and its regulatory regime.
  • Technical experience in Superannuation / Wealth Management/Prudential, Risk/Assurance will be well regarded
  • Comprehensive knowledge of internal / external audit / risk management methodologies
  • Ability in building and maintain exceptional stakeholder relationships
  • Team player with the ability to provide training, coaching and mentoring to your wider team
