About this role

The successful Business Development Manager will take a key role in the strategic planning and coordination of all networking and bid activities for the business. You will be responsible for securing work from both existing and new clients and continue to develop those relationships moving forward. The role can be tailored to the level of experience of the successful applicant, however a knowledge of design and construction is essential.

This creative studio has recently refreshed their branding and have many high-end commercial and workplace projects in their pipeline. They are a well-respected practice in the design industry, providing interior solutions for big household names. They are recognised for their collaborative approach to design and developing strong relationships with their clients.

Key Responsibilities

  • General Business Development Activities
  • Meeting with clients and taking detailed design and fitout briefs
  • Managing timelines with design and quotes (completed by the design and estimating team)
  • Sales Pitches for new clients, including presentations when require
  • Liaise and build relationships with existing agent & owners data base
  • Create and building NEW relationships with existing owners data base
  • Undertaking site measures & visits (if required/ other staff unavailable)
  • Running clients through design layouts changes and quotes in detail
  • Handover of Won projects to the project management team
  • Monitor and maintain a sales pipeline register together with other BDM
  • Report sales status weekly to CEO

  • Experience in business development role within the design or construction industry
  • Professional and well-presented
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently to a consistently high standard
  • Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite
