The Business Development Manager is responsible for the development and maintenance of new business relationships with Brokers in their chosen target market and to leverage and maintain relationships with existing Brokers.

This role works to achieve retention targets and profitable growth by leveraging and maintaining relationships through developing relationships with selected stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain strong commercial relationships with key staff and develop an in depth understanding of each business structure, complexity, client issues and objectives
  • Manage Broker relationships through account and business development and actively target quality Brokers
  • Achieve agreed sales targets through growth, retention and conversion strategies with a panel of Brokers to ensure revenue growth and profitability of the portfolio
  • Gather and share industry and market intelligence to build understanding and identify trends to improve competitive advantage and positioning
  • Take ownership of sales budget, drive sales results and deliver outcomes to build revenue
  • Actively drive teamwork with other Business Development Managers and Business Development Consultants within the State to increase growth
  • Work collaboratively across Broker Partnerships to contribute to the Home Lending strategy with a team-wide view of accountabilities
  • Skills & Experience

  • Tertiary qualifications in a business-related field – Desired
  • Solid client-facing sales experience
  • Experience dealing with Intermediaries with a strong existing relationship base
  • Knowledge of Intermediaries landscape and key influential stakeholders will be highly regarded
