    About the role

    As a Business Development Manager you will be responsible for proactively sourcing and managing high-value Mortgage Brokers to achieve lending volume and retention targets and contribute to overall portfolio growth. You’ll bring your solid understanding of the broker business to identify product and service opportunities and to assist them in running strong businesses which are aligned to our offerings.

    Responsibilities

  • Proactively find and manage high-value Mortgage Brokers to achieve specific lending volume and retention targets and contribute to overall portfolio growth;
  • Develop a sound understanding of the Broker business to identify product and service opportunities and to assist Brokers in running a better business aligned to our offerings;
  • Conduct Broker Accreditation workshops and Market Education Program sessions as well as attend Broker and industry functions representing NAB;
  • Discuss Loan Scenarios and Structure with Mortgage Brokers and write recommendations to support complex loan submissions;
  • Meet with Broker Group BDMs to educate them on our service proposition and products and conduct regular, planned sales calls with structured objectives and outcomes;
  • Monitor sales pipeline to ensure budgets are achieved and initiate planned activities to rectify when necessary;
  • Manage and leverage internal relationships to deliver a comprehensive, competitive and quality service experience to broker businesses;
  • Support all centralised product, pricing, policy and process communications with allocated Brokers.
  • About you

    Thriving on business excellence, you will have either previous business development or credit related experience and be a professional who prides yourself on maintaining strong industry networks and as someone who understands the unique drivers and opportunities within the Broker industry. Your diverse experience and knowledge in mortgage lending will also be accompanied by:

  • Strong influencing skills in highly competitive sales environments
  • Superior strategic thinking and business acumen
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Tertiary qualifications in business, finance or a similar discipline would be an advantage.
