The Role:
Due to continued growth and success we are now looking for an experienced Business Development Manager to join our Melbourne sales team. The role will be a hybrid function across Business Development and Account Management and co-funded by our vendor partner Netapp.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prospecting and winning new and strategic Netapp business opportunities from within Harbour IT’s ‘ideal’ customer segment
  • Achieving your Gross Profit sales target and agreed KPIs
  • Leverage existing industry contacts in order to acquire new Netapp customers
  • Manage your sales pipeline to quickly nurture prospects into new customers
  • Enhance ongoing communication to maintain high customer engagement and satisfaction levels
  • Proactively identify and address support or deliver issues in a timely manner
  • Responsible for the creation, implementation and execution of sales plans
  • Provide, or facilitate training opportunities for your accounts.
     
  • About You:
    The successful candidate will be responsible for uncovering new business opportunities focusing primarily on Netapp solutions and services whilst also managing a small amount of Harbour IT existing customers. This is a field-based role and you will be supported by an experienced team including, cross functional support and lead generation.

    Key Attributes:

  • 8 to 15 years of overall experience is preferred with at least 5 years of experience in an IT enterprise space with strong understanding of its’ sales cycle and know-hows in managing this segment of the business
  • Strong verbal and written communications skills, including presentation skills especially at ‘C’ Level
  • Ability to work collaboratively with employees within department and across functions
  • Aptitude for understanding how technology products and solutions solve business problems
  • Ability to convey information clearly and provide analysis as needed to help customer make buying decisions
  • Conversant in the space of Datacenter and Infrastructures coupled with either Cloud, DevOps or Software knowledge and experience
