About the Role…

The Business Support Officer works with the City Assets Senior Managers (Asset Operations and Assets & Delivery) to assist them in achieving their accountabilities through providing high level administrative and project support.


The position develops strong cross departmental relationships to assist in high quality decision making, manages competing priorities, works to short deadlines, and maintains confidentiality.

Some of the day to day tasks will include diary management, records management, development and distribution of correspondence, management of procurement, and the management of team agendas and minutes.



About You…

To be successful in this position, you will have formal qualifications in an administrative or business related field, and/or demonstrated relevant experience.

You will have the ability to effectively collaborate and develop key stakeholder relationships, provide effective and professional administration support and customer service, and evaluate and implement administrative practices, systems and procedures to optimize efficiency and support the delivery of quality outcomes.


In addition, you will possess:

  • Demonstrated initiative, forward planning and time management skills and experience, able to work with minimal supervision
  • Knowledge and skills in IT programs including Microsoft Office suite
  • Experienced in internal software systems, including troubleshooting and updates
  • Sound knowledge of administrative and financial systems and demonstrated ability to interpret and apply policy and procedure
  • Demonstrated research and analytical skills appropriate to the preparation of reports and documentation
