looking for Buyer/Planner in Eaton’s Electrical Business, based in Mascot, New South Wales, Australia. In Eaton,

This role is responsible for the planning and purchasing of
materials/finished goods to support customer requirements. This position will
manage Interco/third-party suppliers to ensure On-Time-Delivery at competitive
pricing while managing inventory levels to prevent shortages and minimize
inventory Days-On-Hand.

Your Essential
Responsibilities

+ Place purchase orders with Interco/third-party
suppliers for the procurement of material/finished goods as required by
forecast, firm customer orders and dependent demand.

+ Utilize process for confirming purchase order
acknowledgements and supplier delivery schedule

+ Monitor status of open purchase orders to ensure
on-time delivery of all materials/finished goods, including timely resolution,
communication and mitigation of future potential problems

+ Expedite/De-expedite/Cancel purchase orders as per
MRP action messages

+ Manage/resolve issues with supplier regarding
purchase price variances, returns and quality problems

+ Participate and support with Supplier QBR’s

+ Determine cost-effective transportation modes and
storage capacity requirements through logistics planning and optimization

+ Evaluate and maintain inventory management
policies, including strategies, forecasts, min/max, ROP, EOQs, safety stocks
and associated parameters.

+ Provide recommendations on appropriate purchasing
policies, i.e. made to order, make to stock, etc.

+ Initiate/maintain the planning and distribution of
purchased/assigned commodity items for multiple Outside Processing Partners
(OSP) to ensure on-time customer deliveries

+ Initiate and drive inventory optimization projects
(E&O reduction, replenishment strategies, etc.)

+ Coordinate material flows throughout product/BOM
changes, obsolescence, and the introduction of new suppliers and/or materials
due to new product development

+ Report on KPIs, conduct root cause analysis on poor
performance and drive improvement actions

+ Implement projects to achieve key requirements on
OTD, DOH, and cost out

+ Implement Sourcing/Procurement strategies; focusing
on cost out and payment terms (DPO)

+ Setup & maintain Purchase Information Records
(PIR), and Material Master system planning parameters (MOQ, lead time, safety
stocks, etc); including conducting regular ERP data integrity health checks

+ Provide back-up support for supply chain functions
including shipping, receiving, material handling and other duties as assigned

+ Collaborate with internal customers and provide a
high level of customer service, including pro-active communication,
recommending solutions, resources, and alternative supply options

+ Apply quality control methods such as ISO, EQMS,
and ELSS; liaise with suppliers on quality issues

+ Audit inventory records for accuracy; participation
in the annual physical inventory process

+ Support Eaton Business System (EBS) and continuous
improvements

+ Ensure all activities comply with legal and ethical
requirements

+ Be aware of the company’s and your own obligations
under the Occupational Health and Safety Regulations as well as the company’s
documented Quality Management system

+ Other job-related duties and tasks as requested by
Management

Qualifications

If you have:

+ A relevant tertiary qualification and/or body of
knowledge certification (e.g. APICS, CPM, etc.)

+ A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a buyer/planner
role

+ Expert applied knowledge of forecasting, supply
chain, inventory management, transportation, and warehousing disciplines

+ Strong sense of urgency & attention to detail

+ Excellent organization, communication and follow-up
skills

+ Able to influence others & manage conflict

+ Ability to self-direct and take constructive action
in ambiguous situations

+ Extremely high standards of excellence

+ Analytical with a methodical approach to problem
solving

+ Experience establishing and employing demand-pull
material planning methods

+ Proven experience/accomplishments in business
process improvement

+ ERP/MRP System knowledge essential; SAP preferred

+ Excellent computer skills (including Excel)

+ Results driven
