About the Centre

SDN Hurstville is a 39-place centre offering early childhood education and child care for children from two years to school age in Sydney’s St George area.

The centre has two rooms, one for 2-3 year old children, and one for 4-5 year old children and offer a high staff-to-child ratio.

About The Role

To provide innovative leadership in managing a high quality Children’s Education and Care service.

You will ensure strong management for the day to day operations of the centre through regular evaluation of systems and processes, as well as management of staff rosters, staff ratios and adequate supervision.

You will ensure centre and staff compliance with relevant legislative documents and build and maintain a strong relationship with children, families, staff and other internal and external stakeholders.

This is a full time maximum term contract position to start in November 2020 until November 2021.

About You

  • Demonstrated ability to build constructive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Knowledge and experience in managing operational budgets, utilisation and marketing strategies
  • Demonstrated ability to establish a culture of reflective practice and continuous improvement across teams
  • Understanding of Child Protection legislation and holds an approved and current Child Protection Training qualification
  • Approved First Aid Qualification, Anaphylaxis Training and Asthma Management Training
  • University qualifications in Early Childhood Education, which meet the requirements to be a Nominated Supervisor under the Education and Care Services National Regulations 2013
  • Previous experience as a Centre Director with excellent pedagogical practice informed by the EYLF
  • Working with Children’s Check clearance number
  • Excellent understanding of the National Quality Framework, including the National Quality Standards, and the national assessment and rating system
  • Knowledge of relevant legislative documents, applicable to the Early Childhood sector
  • Experience in delivering inclusive and integrated services for families, particularly vulnerable and disadvantaged families
  • Demonstrated experience in leading and managing a team with effective skills in conflict resolution and implementing performance review processes
