Job Description

We are a friendly family owned pub in South Western Queensland – Hotel Cunnamulla, a gateway to Birdsville, Opal Fields, The Cape and the Outback. Cunnamulla has a lively vibrant community, a super friendly town – and Hotel Cunnamulla reflects that fun outback spirit with a great cafe – restaurant, dining room, bars and comfy accommodation serving guests and tourists seven days a week.

We have a great position available for a Chef or very experienced cook – someone who really enjoys good food and to also develop new dishes and ideas.

We dont use any ‘pre-packaged’, ‘frozen / deep fried’ or factory manufactured foods, everything is created and prepared from fresh ingredients, including sauces and marinades for example, as we serve food from a farm, not a factory.

We’re looking for a creative, enthusiastic and hard-working chef who takes special pride in making great pub meals ( much better than your average pre frozen pub grub ) and delivering great service.

Able to design lunch and dinner menus suited to a fast-paced, good quality venue
Able to work under pressure, maintain a level-head and good spirits
Management and understanding of the importance of food costs and labour budgets
Experienced team leader with good communication skills
Thorough knowledge of Food Safety and OH&S requirements
Approachable and friendly attitude
Flexible availability including nights and weekend work (with our support)
Able to provide at least 2 work references for similar position
