About your opportunity

The clinical facilitator works in collaboration with the Midwifery Unit Manager and Midwifery Educator to facilitate quality learning experiences and programs within the North West Hospital and Health Service’s Maternity Unit.

The clinical facilitator will:

  • motivate and value the diversity of learners
  • demonstrate enthusiasm for teaching
  • promote a positive learning experience
  • teach content reflecting current practice
  • act in the capacity of a mentor, coach, role model
  • and supervise midwifery practice effectively within a clinical context

This role will be undertaken by an advanced practice midwife/nurse who will promote and grow a midwifery focused workforce, participate in the initiation of `The Baby Friendly Health Initiative’, and support continued improvement of health services.

What we are seeking:

  • While not mandatory, a relevant postgraduate qualification in Midwifery/Nursing or Education including but not restricted to Lactation, Perinatal Mental Health, Special Care Nursery or NICU would be well regarded.
  • Registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (AHPRA) as a registered nurse/midwife and a current practising certificate are mandatory requirements for appointment to the role.
  • Understanding of own strengths and limitations through self-awareness and self-management in an increasingly complex environment.
  • This is a Vaccine Preventable Diseases (VPD) risk role.

What’s on offer?

Permanent full-time role, 76 hours per fortnight.

Generous remuneration package value up to $115,848 p.a. comprising:

  • salary range between $94,545 to $101,237 p.a. (Nurse Grade 6 – Band 1)
  • annual recreational leave p.a. with 17.5% loading
  • 12.75% employer contribution to superannuation.
