The purpose of this position is to deliver high level specialist clinical mental health services in the areas of assessment, intervention, case management, treatment, planning and evaluation.
The role is expected to work collaboratively as a multidisciplinary team member within the Cloncurry and McKinlay Shire regions to address health issues in partnership with community-based organisations, other Government departments and North West Hospital and Health Service teams (such as Disaster Recovery and Tackling Regional Adversity).
What we are seeking:
Demonstrated high level clinical knowledge and skills in mental health nursing, maintenance of professional standards, knowledge of management practices, organisation and participation in quality and research activities.
Demonstrated ability to provide clinical services of a complex nature, where established principles, procedures and methods require expansion, adaption and modification.
Demonstrated maintenance of currency and high quality of professional practice knowledge, skills and expertise by actively contributing to and participating in professional development activities.
Demonstrated contribution to the maintenance of professional, clinical and National standards within the context of Remote and community based Mental Health Services
Demonstrated high levels of initiative and responsibility to lead change in the identification, development and implementation of quality and service improvement activities that incorporate consumer and carer participation, contributing to an evidence-based model of service delivery.
Demonstrated ability to apply evidence-based principles to facilitate complex clinical decisions.
There is an expectation that applicants will possess or be working towards Authorised Mental Health Practitioner status.
Proof of qualification, registration with AHPRA and a current practising certificate are mandatory requirements.
The position may involve travel to various facilities or units within the North West Hospital and Health Service.
Class C motor vehicle licence.
This is a Vaccine Preventable Diseases (VPD) risk role.

What’s on offer?
Permanent full-time role, 76 hours per fortnight.
Generous remuneration package value up to $144,228 p.a. comprising:
salary range between $116,092 to $126,037 p.a. (Nurse Grade 7)
5 weeks p.a. recreational leave p.a. with 17.5% loading
12.75% employer contribution to superannuation
