The North Queensland Persistent Pain Management Service (NQPPMS) provides support, education and multidisciplinary therapy for those with persistent pain, with the ultimate goal of patient self-management. The NQPPMS also provides education and support to both public and private sector. In this role you will provide nursing care, assist with clinical interventions and provide pain management education to clients and their families of the NQPPMS on an outpatient basis within a multidisciplinary team. The Clinical Nurse also provides clinical expertise, support and education to nursing staff and other health professionals. This position may involve travel to other health facilities in North Queensland.

Pro rata remuneration package based on full-time equivalent value of up to $115,848 p.a., comprising base salary range of$47.68 – $51.05 p.h. (Nurse Grade 6 [Band 1]), recreational leave loading (17.5%), and employer contribution to superannuation (12.75%).

The ideal candidate will demonstrate:

  • Proven ability to comprehensively assess, plan, implement and evaluate nursing care at an advanced level within a complex environment
  • Ability to build and maintain effective relationships with the multidisciplinary team, patients and other stakeholders, including participation in relevant networks.
  • High standard of written and oral communication skills within the multidisciplinary team, patients and their families.
  • Ability to use or learn to use information systems appropriate to the position.
  • Ability to provide clinical education and support and demonstrate own ongoing professional development.
  • Ability to demonstrate competency as outlined in the NMBA Registered Nurse Standards for Practice
