About the role
The objective of this position is to develop a deeperrelationship with the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islandercommunity within the City of Rockingham. Not only will this personplay a key role in implementing the City’s ReconciliationAction Plan, they will also build and maintain relationships in thecommunity by directly working with community members to increasecultural competency and cultural awareness both at the City andwithin the wider community.
They will engage with the Aboriginal community, offeringopportunities for leadership development, workforce skillsdevelopment and to demonstrate culture through storytelling and thearts, cultural tourism, youth engagement and diversion.
You in the role
The suitable candidate possesses a tertiary qualification inAboriginal Studies, Community Development, Social Science, orrelated field and/or significant experience within AboriginalServices and/or Community Development. A current ‘C’class drivers licence is essential for this role.
