We have a permanent full time opportunity for a Contaminated Lands Advisor to join our Metronet team. 

ABOUT THE ROLE

Based on site, you will be part of this collaborative Environmental team and will report directly to the Environment and Sustainability Manager.

  • Provide environmental management guidance and advice to site-based construction teams.
  • Performance monitoring, including contaminated site requirements and controls for the management of groundwater impacts, landfill gas management, acid sulphate soil management and stockpile characterisation.
  • Setup and management of site environmental monitoring equipment
  • Facilitate and conduct routine monitoring and soil validation testing.
  • Lead site inspections and audits.
  • Site data collection, management, analysis and reporting, including contaminated site requirements, environmental incidents and non-compliance
  • Assist with monthly client reporting
  • Develop and assist with managing site environmental audit/inspection/monitoring schedules.
  • Management and supervision of consultants and contractors

ABOUT YOU

  • Degree qualifications in environmental science, engineering or similar.
  • At least 6 years’ experience in civil construction environmental management, with hands on contaminated site management experience including large infrastructure projects, both preliminary and detailed site investigations.
  • Sound understanding of Western Australia Environmental Legislation with proven ability to review and interpret relevant legislation, standards and codes of practice and contractual requirements to comply with contaminates sites requirements
  • Solid experience in groundwater assessments, routine monitoring and soil validation.
  • Competent in using Geographic Information Systems.
  • Groundwater and Landfill Gas Assessments and Monitoring
  • Soil Validation sampling and data management
  • Autonomous approach to all aspects of environmental management.
  • Effective time and people management skills including planning and sequencing of work, and personal time management
  • Demonstrated effective on-ground problem solving techniques and skills especially as it relates to delivery of environmental outcomes
  • Ability to communicate with influence at all levels of the business.

A preference will be provided to any applicant that has Environmental and LAA, Industrial Hygienist or OH&S Asbestos experience/qualifications.
