As one of the two Coordinators, Information and Client Services you will lead an experienced team that delivers information and research services in a welcoming, client-centered environment. You will play a key role in the operational leadership of State Library, assisting in the delivery of our vision, purpose and strategies contributing to the achievement of performance indicators. You will bring your demonstrated leadership capabilities to the role to ensure the continued development of staff and improvement to our client services.

You will take a lead role in development, implementation and administration of key research services and visitor related policies and procedures.

Duties and responsibilities we’ll trust you with:

  • Delivering high quality, welcoming services across multiple channels both onsite and online that promote State Library collections and support the needs of a diverse range of clients while meeting State Library’s service commitments
  • Managing and developing a high performing team in the delivery of innovative and responsive services to diverse client groups. This includes planning and overseeing the day to day workflows of the team, and delivering on key service objectives and organisational priorities
  • Overseeing the development, management, maintenance and review of client related policies and procedures including Enquiry Services Management Policy, client feedback service and State Library’s Customer Service Commitments
  • Managing, implementing and maintaining standards and processes for the delivery of State Library’s high-quality reference and research enquiry service that extends state-wide through multiple channels. This includes responsibility for annual reporting on the Information Services outcomes, internally and at a national level
  • Researching, monitoring and evaluating the changing information environment and the needs and expectations of clients to identify and progress opportunities for the improvement and development of services
  • Collaborating and building strong relationships with key stakeholders across government, other library industry staff and the professional bodies to ensure services are targeted, relevant and appropriate
  • Representing State Library on both internal and external user groups, committees, programs and working groups. This includes collaborating with communities of practice, industry bodies, and government organisations in order to enhance the delivery of efficient and effective visitor service
  • Working effectively with colleagues and peers while contributing to a productive and positive work environment in times of change and uncertainty. This includes being a proactive member of the Visitor and Information Services leadership team and an active participant in Content and Client Services portfolio planning and initiatives
