Hudson is looking to engage the services of a Data Analyst to work with stakeholders to understand their needs and tailor data extracts and reports and analysis to different audiences. This position will be key in helping improve products and business decisions by making the most out of the organisations data. The role will have a leading role in building analytics models. You should have a strong problem-solving ability and be able to communicate effectively.

This is a contract until EOFY with extension options, please note you will need to be an Australian Citizen to be eligible for this role.

To be successful for this role you will be:

  • Gathering, understanding and interpreting information from many sources; understanding the relationships between various data sets and the limitations of each set
  • Data mining/collection procedures, ensure data quality/integrity, interpret/analyse data problems and test performance of data-driven products
  • Visualize data and create visualization reports
  • Support the section to deliver quality reporting and analytics services that are efficient, effective and in line with Agency objectives
  • Use visualization techniques to present data in understandable insightful ways
  • Conduct investigations and analysis to design solutions for projects and/or data system issues
  • Provide analytic assistance and training to the Agency and data presentation advice to stakeholders
  • Support the definition of data requirements and, including documentation of procedures
  • Obtain and maintain knowledge of the Agency data/information processes (source systems, raw entities and attributes)
  • Develop and maintain working relationships with stakeholders to facilitate data collection, review, analysis and reporting.
  • Identification of potential improvements in data capture, linkage, transformation & flow
  • Undertaking administrative tasks such a mailbox/file management, tracking and delivery against KPIs and end-to-end management of reporting requests, working closely with the Agency Information Office
  • Manage and report deliverables and input into daily and weekly performance meetings and weekly and monthly reporting
  • Excellent work ethic, able to self-manage and progress tasks independently
  • Ability to work independently and within a team to tackle meaningful problems
  • Critical Thinking to uncover and synthesize connections that are not always so clear
  • Basic project management and facilitation skills to influence, work effectively, and implement solutions in a multi-functional, multi-regional team environment
  • Relevant qualifications and demonstrated experience in a Government role previously will be highly regarded.
