As part of the Eyre and Far North Local Health Network, this is an exceptional opportunity for a Direct Care Worker to join a dynamic and enthusiastic team. The Kimba Pioneer Hostel is an 11 bed hostel for clients requiring a low level of care, and eight independent living units. Within a friendly and welcoming workplace, you will be responsible for providing a direct client service to residents of the Residential Care Home. Primarily, you will contribute to the provision of a qualitative care for residents through personal care, housekeeping, transport, shopping assistance. This will include duties such as bed making, bathing, showering, personal hygiene and grooming assistance, distribution of laundry, providing input into client assessment, as well as assistance with the provision of routine treatments and procedures.
Critical to your success in this role is experience in a similar role where you demonstrated the ability to exercise own judgment and initiative in the day to day execution of a position. With effective interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to relate to people from different cultures, backgrounds and circumstances, you will enjoy working collaboratively with consumers, families and carers. The proven ability to use discretion and maintain strict confidentiality is required, and you will have experience working collaboratively in a supportive multidisciplinary team environment. Experience in the use of computer packages e.g. Microsoft Word, Excel is also essential.
