Responsible for the overall coordination and management of business development and sales activities specifically related to Iridium satellite products and services as well as other commercial SATCOM technologies to the Australian Defence Force (ADF). Develops, plans, and coordinates sales and account strategies for targeted customers with the sole purpose of driving revenue. Drives sales pipeline, revenue, and customer relationship management (CRM) processes.. ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITES:. To perform the job successfully, this individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily and should demonstrate the following competencies to consistently perform the essential functions of this position. Identify and close new business opportunities within the ADF around commercial satellite technologies. Execute account management activities such as pricing development, NDAs, teaming agreements, portfolio, and project management.. Execute contract modifications and extensions.. Provide on-site customer care when required.. Design customer specific, value-based solutions to ensure that sales objectives for new revenue are attained.. Set up regular face-to-face client meetings, proposals and client presentations.. Execute the account plan and track performance of successfully closed leads and opportunities within Satcom Direct Australia’s standard reporting tools and CRM.. Responsible for Customer Relationship Management (CRM) database management and processes to ensure efficient and effective management of the sector pipeline and customer knowledge.. Shape business opportunities to ensure successful bids then respond to requests for proposals in a timely and professional manner.. Work collaboratively with the SD and management team and customer support teams to continuously improve customer satisfaction and uncover new business opportunities.. Maintain an up-to-date understanding SD’s market positioning, messaging and strategy.. Build industry association relationships with strategic partners and other key contacts, as appropriate.. Provide pertinent information about key account, territory and industry changes to the leadership team, focusing on industry opportunities.. Review competitor plans, products and services; prepare pricing strategies per customer budgets and procurement methods. GENERAL QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:. College degree in business administration or equivalent experience is preferred. Product knowledge of Iridium and Avanti satellite services.. ADF Military Background preferred. KNOWLEDGE or SKILLS:. Strong planning, organizational, analytical, leadership, interpersonal, decision making, oral, and written communication skills.. Basic technical understanding of commercial satellite networks and hardware.. Knowledge of blue force tracking networks and technologies.. Strong negotiation, conflict resolution, and customer service skills.. Strong capture management and proposal development skills.. An emphasis on Government tactical satellite communications.. Demonstrated ability to sell both tangible and intangible solutions in a professional manner.. Excellent interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to work within a team as well as independently.. Effective and confident decision making and problem-solving skills, especially under time constraints.. Ability to maintain confidentiality.. While performing general office duties for this position, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand and/or walk around (including the use of stairs). The position will work primarily from their home office in Canberra, Australia with occasional work out of the SD office in Melbourne Australia. The office environment is generally quiet and, in a temperature, controlled setting with random adjustments in noise or temperature due to others talking loudly, unscheduled maintenance repairs to the building or its interior offices or unpredictable situations due to weather or other acts beyond company control. An employee must be willing to work their regularly assigned work schedule for their particular duties and/or job responsibilities and in times of need, be able to work an extended schedule depending on company/department needs, project requirements or customer demands. Travel is 10-20%. Some overnight travel is required to facilitate work objectives. While at client site locations, if applicable, employee will be required to adhere to the proper safety precautions established by the client while in proximity to their work area, flight-line or maintenance repair center; work may require some physical effort in the handling of light materials, boxes or equipment. The temperature at client locations can vary from controlled to variations off hot/cold when working, standing or walking in or near the flight-line or maintenance repair center..
