This position supports the Ankura Construction Disputes & Advisory practice – one of seven practices focused on client delivery services across the Firm.

We will consider candidates based both in Sydney or Brisbane.

Our construction dispute resolution professionals provide expert advice and independent professional opinion: developing efficient, practical solutions as well as robust delay and cost/quantum analysis, presenting conclusions in a clear, concise and objective manner relied upon by the courts, corporations or tribunals to navigate through and decide on difficult matters. In the process, we remain committed to other cost-effective solutions and remedies for effectively resolving complex matters.

Responsibilities:

+ A Director will primarily be involved in dispute resolution, litigation support and providing support to an expert witness, cost and damages analysis, claims assessment, schedule analysis, technical issue analysis and account evaluation services.

+ An individual is required who can perform advanced data research, management and analysis. This role will involve frequent client interaction and may require the successful candidate to prepare and makes presentations to communicate results.

+ We anticipate that the successful candidate will have a good academic record and be able to demonstrate how they have distinguished themselves within their chosen field. We require an individual with significant quantity surveying experience and ideally the successful candidate will be MRICS or equivalent. A post-graduate degree would be considered an advantage.

Qualifications

+ Excellent verbal and written communications skills in English

+ Professionalism and client facing ability

+ A strong technical underpinning in Quantity Surveying

+ Very strong IT skills in Microsoft Word and Excel

+ A flexible approach to their work

+ An understanding of demands of project-based work

+ A sense of personal responsibility for the quality of their work

+ BSc in Quantity Surveying, construction management or similar from a leading university

+ Membership of RICS

+ A post graduate qualification in Construction Law (or similar) is desirable

+ Fluency in one other language would be beneficial
