Practice Information

Our Australian Cybersecurity and Privacy Practice is a rapidly growing part of the Data and Technology Solutions Segment of Ankura globally. Our experts help our clients address their critical information security challenges, including incident investigation/response, as well as assessing and reducing information security risks.

Ankura’s cybersecurity services focus on the decision-makers, giving them the cyber strategy and tools that drive efficiencies, unlock value, and strengthen the core of the enterprise. Our approach engages with executive leadership and boards at a strategic level. Ankura’s cybersecurity team provides cybersecurity services to Government, Financial Services, Private Equity, and Critical Infrastructure clients.

Responsibilities

As a Director, you will be expected to support and engage in the following activities:

+ Evaluate Client’s Cybersecurity Program based upon a recognised framework or regulation such as the NIST Cybersecurity Framework, HIPAA Security Rule, PCI Data Security Standard, ISO Standards, etc.

+ Develop a deep understanding of each client’s organisation to guide them in identifying, analysing, and addressing cyber-related threats and risks

+ Assist in preparing proposals and responses to client requests and market opportunities

+ Lead multiple client engagements and manage project finances and team utilisation

+ Generate consistent and thorough documentation to support processes executed throughout the project lifecycle

+ Develop, review, and edit information security policies and procedures and provide guidance to clients regarding best practices

+ Develop and deliver recommendations, reports, and presentations based upon findings

+ Develop a prioritised security project plan tailored to each clients’ environment

+ Provide input into client communications, both written and oral, throughout the lifecycle of the project

+ Mentor junior colleagues to assist with their growth and professional development within the organisation

+ Supervise appropriate personnel, including less experienced consultants, client personnel, clerical support, and others as appropriate

+ Be an external advocate of the company and team to drive additional growth through recruitment

+ Perform risk and network assessments, including best practice audits on network devices, vulnerability scanning, and access control

Qualifications and Experience

+ Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience in MIS, CIS, Networking, or Security

+ 3 – 4 years of prior consulting experience

+ Prior system or network administration experience

+ Security+ or Network+ Certification or CISSP/CISM

+ Prior experience with Axio, RiskRecon, Nessus, Nmap, Qualys

+ Functional understanding of Network Architecture, Design, and Security Best Practices

+ Strong attention to detail, possessing problem-solving, troubleshooting, and analytical reasoning skills

+ Experience assessing against Security/Cybersecurity compliance and frameworks (ex. NIST, HIPAA, ISO, PCI, etc.)

+ Proven ability to deliver solution strategies and implementations to clients

+ Strong risk management, project management, and communication skills

+ Exceptional organisational skills, to include detailed note-taking abilities

+ Team player who is comfortable working in a dynamic and fast-paced environment with minimal supervision

+ Ability to interact confidently with senior management, C-suite, and lawyers/partners

+ Work as a member of a team as well as be a self-motivator with ability to work independently

+ Experience with financial services, private equity, or government would be advantageous

+ The following additional qualifications are advantageous, but not required:

+ EnCase, CFCE or CISSP, SANS, CISA, PMP, CISM, CISSP, and/or similar certification(s)
