**Role Summary/Purpose**

The Electrician installs, troubleshoots, and repairs electrical systems, apparatuses, and electrical control components of stationary engines and mechanical device such as gas turbine engines, steam turbines, diesel engines, generators, heat recovery steam generators, gas compressors, air compressors, motors, pumps, chillers, uninterruptible power supply systems and other related device by performing the following duties.

**Essential Function, but not limited to:**

+ Diagnoses cause of electrical malfunction or failure of operational device such as transformers, motors, relays, switches, and control and monitoring devices and takes corrective measures in collaboration with Maintenance Manager / Supervisor.

+ Complete daily electrical and instrumentation maintenance activities.

+ Assist with electrical isolation’s and permitting when required.

+ Installs wire and conduit for newly installed machines and device.

+ Terminates wiring to machines and device and connects cables and wires between machines and device.

+ Replaces faulty wiring and electrical components of machines such as relays, switches, motors, and position sensing devices.

+ Replaces electric motor bearings.

+ Aligns, adjusts, and calibrates device according to specifications.

+ Maintains records of repairs, calibrations, and tests.

+ Reads dials or digital displays that indicate electronic characteristics such as voltage, frequency, distortion, inductance, and capacity.

+ Reads meters and gauges or automatic recording devices at specified intervals to verify proper operation.

+ Records maintenance actions taken on work order forms.

+ Dismantles devices to gain access to and remove defective parts.

+ Advises maintenance manager / supervisor on inventory of repair parts and supplies and ordering material as needed

+ Works with operational staff to test device performance.

+ Reads and understands technical manuals and system piping and instrumentation diagrams.

+ Performs preventative and corrective maintenance in accordance with technical manual procedures.

+ Prepares legible and understandable work orders for required preventative and corrective maintenance.

+ Reads, understands, and complies with all plant safety and regulatory procedures.

+ Complies with all the EHS policies and procedures as adopted and implemented at plant site.

+ Understand OH&S risks / hazards and environmental / legislative aspect / impacts related to work activities.

+ Performs other duties as required and assigned

**To be considered for the role you will possess the following:**

+ Trade qualification (Cert 4 EEHA and Instrumentation) and an unrestricted A Grade Electrical License

+ Experience in a fixed plant environment

+ Right to work in Australia

+ Previous experience with Electrical and Instrumentation maintenance

+ Possess advanced skills and applies the fundamental concepts, practices and procedures of a particular field of specialization.

+ Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals

+ The ability to work within a team and unsupervised

+ Willingness to undertake a full pre-employment medical
