Raytheon Australia has a rare opportunity to be part of an innovative and exciting project to establish Electronic Warfare training ranges in Australia to support the ADF. Work on radar, communications, command and control, and network systems with domestic and international partners in close cooperation with the RAAF.

Reporting to the Mobile Threat Training Emitter System (MTTES) Engineering Manager the successful applicant will provide professional engineering services including building works site acceptance. The individual will support the specification and procurement of site and antenna installations as well as mobile vehicle installations including support of the integration, test and on-going support of electrical systems / sub-systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare Statement of Works to support the procurement of systems and provide electrical support and acceptance for vehicle system installations.
  • Understand the operation and functional performance requirements of MTTES electrical hardware and provide assistance in resolving Trouble Reports that involve electrical hardware issues.
  • Prepare as directed and maintain MTTES engineering documentation associated with assigned engineering tasks.
  • Ensure MTTES electrical systems / sub-systems are developed and implemented according to Company and Australian standards.
  • Document and record modifications and acceptance in accordance with the Company quality system.

Skills, Experience and Qualifications

  • Tertiary Qualification in relevant discipline with a significant component of Electrical Engineering and at least 5 year demonstrated experience in an Electrical & Building Engineering environment (ideally in defence projects and site installations including managing sub-contractor trades).
  • Experience in producing engineering cost estimates.
  • Experience in Military Standard electrical component/subsystem selection and procurement.
  • Familiarity with AS3000 Wiring Rules and experience with RF systems such as radar and or radio equipment.
  • Experience in lightning protection design and review would be considered as desirable.

The successful applicant must be eligible to obtain and maintain a Base Line Defence Security Clearance and be able to apply for a Negative Vetting Level 1 Security Clearance.
