Enrolled Nurse Advanced Skill – Ward 4A at new specialist public health facility!

Surgical, Treatment and Rehabilitation Service (STARS) is a new greenfield and digital, specialist public health facility which is due to open in 2020. It has been designed to deliver a range of new and expanded healthcare services to meet demand and increase patient access to specialist rehabilitation services, elective surgical and endoscopy procedural services.

STARS is a new 182-bed facility that couples complex rehabilitation and specialist elective surgical services and procedures in a planned procedure environment to provide patients with greater access to care in clinically recommended timeframes.

We are building a team to deliver exceptional healthcare at STARS for Metro North Hospital and Health Service (MNHHS) – Australia’s biggest, best and nicest health service.

Based in Herston, STARS also forms part of the Herston Health Precinct – home to a collaborative community of 13,000 staff including clinicians and healthcare professionals, researchers and students.

Your Opportunity

  • Practice in accordance with Code of Ethics, professional and organisational standards and legislation affecting nursing/midwifery practice by participating in ethical decision making and maintaining current knowledge and skills with in scope of the position.
  • Contribute to nursing/midwifery assessment and care of individuals and groups by practicing within ENAS scope of practice, implementing aspects of the care plan including consumer/person risk assessment as delegated by the registered nurse/midwife, and by assisting in providing information during clinical bedside handover that contributes to evaluation of progress towards expected consumer/person outcomes.
  • Recognise and respond appropriately and report sudden alterations in the consumer/person’s condition and workload changes in a timely manner to the registered nurse/midwife.
  • Provide health promotion and education to recipients of healthcare services and their carers and significant others.
  • Undertake unit activities other than direct consumer/person centred care such as advance skill portfolio/s and/or participate on committees.
