Working a . FTE, the duration of this vacancy is from October to December unless otherwise determined. As the Clinical Nurse Consultant you will provide profession- specific supervision, leadership and support for departmental nurses, within the Central Queensland region, to ensure quality nursing services that ensure safe participation and access for students with health support needs. The role is responsible for providing advice on policy, guidelines, codes and operational standards, relevant to nursing services, participating directly or indirectly, in the delivery of clinical services and collaborative practice. This temporary vacancy is open to Expressions of Interest and accordingly any appointment (and extension to this appointment) will not extend beyond months. Your roleAs the Clinical Nurse Consultant you will have responsibility for the following: Contribute to the recruitment, selection and induction of departmental nurses.Provide ongoing supervision, support, leadership and advocacy for departmental nurses with particular emphasis on safe support of students’ health needs.Participate directly, or indirectly, in the delivery of clinical services and collaborative practice.Develop and implement evidence based nursing practice in an educational setting.Provide professional supervision to nurses in collaboration with regional and school personnel.Support performance development planning and facilitate professional development for departmental nurses.Lead and participate in the activities of project teams.Provide high level advice, risk management and recommendations to the Senior Nurse Manager and other clients on policies, systems and practices related to nursing services in education.Contribute to research, development, maintenance, review and implementation of operational standards, policy, procedures and programs to support nursing services across the department.Represent the department on committees, associations and interdisciplinary teams.Document and secure records of all nursing activities according to departmental policies and procedures. The possession of current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency is required for this role.
