Executive Manager, Autism Helpline & Community Capacity Building Programs

  • Peak body for autistic people and their families in Victoria
  • Critical leadership role providing strategic and operational oversight to key programs, including the national roll-out of Autism Connect
  • Full Time position
  • Currently working remotely from home under Covid Restrictions, office location in Richmond

As the Executive Manager, you will report directly to the CEO, and your key accountabilities will include:

  • Program management – provide strategic and operational oversight, and ensure evaluation and reporting of four key program areas: the Autism Connect national autism helpline service, the Amaze Knowledge Centre, Amaze Community (Peer) Support program and Amaze Capacity Building program.
  • Stakeholder engagement – lead stakeholder engagement for the ISCB program including building relationships with government and NDIA and its partners (LAC’s, ECEI) and other organisations to form partnerships of mutual benefit
  • Business development – drive new business and revenue and develop funding proposals to achieve budget and grow revenues
  • Executive Team participation – strategic contribution to Amaze’s strategic planning and delivery of KPIs, working collaboratively with other Executive Managers

A major focus of this role will be the implementation, launch and growth of the Autism Connect service, to expand Amaze to a national footprint. Autism Connect has been funded for three years and will delivery a national autism information service. This service will support autistic people, their families and carers, the broader autism sector (allied health professionals, researchers, educators) and the general public – providing information and support across multiple channels including phone, email, webchat, SMS.

What you will bring to this role:

  • Degree qualification in an appropriate field – e.g. Community Engagement / Development, Social Sciences, or Public Administration
  • Demonstrated experience in a similar management role, setting strategic direction at program level and overseeing operations, ideally in a government or community setting.
  • Knowledge of, or demonstrated commitment to, working with autistic people in co-design capacity to provide services to the autistic community
  • Exceptional verbal, written, presentation and persuasion skills, with the ability to build strategic partnerships to meet shared objectives
  • High level strategy, business, financial management and organisational skills
  • Knowledge of the disability service system, the NDIS, and/or experience in a Not-for-Profit environment would also be highly regarded.
