Job Description

In your role as Finance Manager for Nine, you will lead & mentor a highly effective and respected team of analysts, who are responsible for shaping the future of our Metro and digital operation on a national scale. 

Working as a critical cog alongside highly intelligent, passionate and engaged business leaders who live and breathe the space – you will play a vital role in partnering with Head of Sales for both Publishing & Digital – to deliver complex reporting, analysis and forecasting that influence core commercial workstreams and transformation projects across the Metro & Digital business units.

Role & Responsibility

Business partnering:

  • Working collaboratively with the business stakeholders to identify cost saving opportunities and drive improvements

  • Liaise with key internal stakeholders across multiple facets of the business

  • Drive strategic initiate to ensure rev/ profit growth

Finance process and results:

  • Management of month end for your business areas 

  • Develop & implement financial models to support business cases

  • Process improvement across finance

Budgeting and forecasting:

  • Lead the annual budgeting and forecasting process for your areas

  • Performing weekly rolling forecasts

  • Develop and maintain appropriate budgeting and forecasting models

Analysis and insights:

  • Development and maintenance of pricing models and profitability analysis

  • Provide insight into the business’ financial performance, proactively highlighting gaps

  • Provide analysis and insights on Price, Cost, Margin, Yield and Volume

Compliance:

  • Process compliance

  • Monitoring and control of business costs

  • Reconciliations including source to ledger to report

Team leadership:

  • Manage & mentor an established and experienced team 

Qualifications

Are you someone who thrives on this type of work, who is passionate about the details & thorough in your outputs? Do you have experience leading & mentoring an experienced  team of analysts?  And, importantly do you posses excellent technical skill, and a highly analytical background (able to identify and ask the right questions at critical moments), with a track record of improving processes using excel, TM1 or Tableau?

  • CPA or CA qualified
  • A minimum 10 years’ experience in Financial and commercial accounting
  • A minimum 3 years management experience
  • Excellent communication skills
  • The ability to engage across different parts of the organisation and different levels.
  • Excellent excel skills
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
  • Proven capability to manage deadlines and manage expectations
