The Front of House Assistant role will assist the Programs and Events team with front of house duties at Creative Generation – State Schools Onstage (CGEN), a major performing arts event held at the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre in July 2021. You will assist with the registration desk, program sales, ticketing and other front of house roles in the week leading up to the performances to ensure a smooth, efficient and effective show week. You will also be required to attend up to 6 major combined rehearsals in the weeks leading up to the performance week.

The Programs and Events (P & E) team is part of DoE’s Strategic Communication and Engagement Branch which provides a strategic consultancy service to the department to promote a range of key departmental initiatives through communication and marketing strategies.

Specifically, the Programs and Events team:

  • provides event activities to the communities of Queensland, in particular, to students, teachers, parents, educators and DoE officers
  • works collaboratively to implement the essential events services of the branch, to develop strong affiliations across the department and within a whole-of-government context
  • designs programs to engage all Queenslanders in learning.

A formal front of house induction will be held in the week commencing Monday 12 July 2021. The position will then be required from Tuesday 13 July through to Saturday 17 July 2021.

First Aid Certificate and Queensland Driver’s licence is desired.

When working in regulated employment an employee must have a current Working with Children Clearance (blue card) issued by Blue Card Services.
