About the role
This newly created position plays a technical lead for a portfolio of product innovation projects globally. Supporting the Marketing and Innovation teams in turning consumer and packaging technology insights into reality, it works as an integral part of a cross-functional team launching new products/packaging for various brands, outside of our mainstream portfolio.
Note that this role could be based in our Magill head office, or our production facilities in Bilyara, Barossa Valley.
Reporting to the GM Product Innovation (Supply) this role will:
+ Create, design and implement new pack concepts in support of the product innovation pipeline, aligned to the Global Innovation strategy
+ Partner with Marketing, Insights and Innovation teams in the creation of solutions which meet identified consumer needs by using packaging technical knowledge and new technology applications
+ Partner with Marketing on package design specifications, and with the Strategic Sourcing and Quality teams for supplier selection and initial production of both packaging materials and packaging operations
+ Responsible for operational direction, assurance of package requirements, policies, procedures and qualification processes. Also responsible for post-launch vendor and facility compliance to requirements
+ Ensure product meets short and long-term GP hurdles, with responsibility to support the scale up and COGs improvement over time
+ Support the deployment of our global packaging guidelines as we become an industry leader in sustainability, both in product design and as a packaging subject matter expert
Tertiary qualified in Science/Food/Engineering, you will have significant packaging development experience in a beverage or FMCG environment. You will be able to work across multiple projects globally in a fast-paced environment. Bringing a passion for packaging technology, you will have superb stakeholder management skills and will be able to build relationships across a broad stakeholder group.
