Currently in the start up phase, in the warmth of the old Leinster Arms building is Goldy’s! – a cosy pub serving nostalgic comfort food and booze with a modern spin. A home away from home, Goldy’s! is a community hangout for every dog and their human. What she lacks in refinement, she makes up for in good times. The door is always open at Goldy’s!

Also operating from the space is TOASTA. Born as a food truck and transformed into a beautiful cafe, TOASTA is all about reconnecting people with their inner-child through nostalgic eating experiences. 

We’re on the hunt for a Head Chef Extraordinaire to lead all things food at our co-location. 

Responsibilities include:

  • Recruiting, inducting, training and rostering of BOH team members for Goldy’s! And TOASTA

  • Developing high quality, creative recipes and executing seasonal menus in line with the brief

  • Work alongside and supervise all kitchen team members ensuring excellence and consistency in the products delivered to customers

  • Setting and monitoring performance standards for staff.

  • Manage the stock control across Goldy’s! and TOASTA kitchens

  • Arrange repairs when necessary

  • Running stock control across the outlets and managing all BOH food and wage costs

  • Developing and enforcing daily and weekly systems and procedures to ensure a high level of presentation, hygiene, service and product quality

  • Ensuring compliance with all health and safety regulations and food standards

  • Required skillset:

  • Significant experience in a similar Head Chef role

  • Experience in the set up of a new kitchen/restaurant

  • Exceptional proven ability of kitchen management

  • Up-to-date with culinary trends and optimised kitchen processes

  • Experience in driving, motivating and developing a team

  • Strong organisational planning and time management

  • Outstanding communication and leadership skills

  • Ability to work weekends, evenings and public holidays

  • Experience with and good understanding of useful computer programs

  • Have all relevant industry certificates

  • Have a positive and energetic attitude

  • Experience managing the kitchen for than one outlet or a multifaceted business is of benefit

  • Other key deliverables:

  • Develop collaborative relationships with the management team to provide quality food and prompt service to our customer
