Develop and implement a strategic vision for UNSW Medicine in South Western Sydney, that plays to the strengths, priorities, academic environment and strategic needs of the University, UNSW Medicine, partners and the local communities
Establish and maintain a collegial, supportive and productive culture within the Precinct and School
Drive the overall academic performance of the School
Develop and maintain a strong relationship with key stakeholders
Attract and retain staff of the highest quality to enable the strategic vision of the School and Precinct to be achieved
Build the capability of staff within the School and Precinct through effective talent management and succession planning strategies supported by regular communication, quality performance conversations, coaching and addressing barriers to high performance
You will be an energetic academic leader with a medical background, possessing an outstanding track record of driving innovation, bringing together multiple stakeholders to achieve common goals. Entrepreneurial in style, you will be passionate about education, research, community engagement and the healthcare system. Diplomatic in your approach, you must have strong skills in analysis and change management. The proven ability to mentor and motivate diverse teams to achieve a high-performance culture, develop future leaders and manage under-performance will also be critical to your success. You must possess an excellent knowledge of the Health sector, with an understanding of how the higher education, government and business sectors can partner to deliver significant and better outcomes.
You will be a respected academic with an understanding and appreciation of the values and roles of a major research university operating in an international context. You must have a strong teaching and/or research record, evidenced for example through publications in top tier journals.
