Established in 2012, as a Joint Venture between Babcock Pty Ltd and UGL Ltd, we now support assets across the Royal Australian Navy’s fleet – most notably the Anzac Class Frigates as a member of the Warship Asset Management Agreement (WAMA) and the Canberra Class Landing Helicopter Docks (LHD), LHD Landing Craft (LLC) and associated assets. Our services include: Engineering Support Services; Maintenance Support Services; Ship Repair, Refit and Refurbishment; Supply Chain Management and Procurement and Logistics.
About the role
The Head of Corporate Development can be located in Sydney or Canberra and has accountability for leading the development of strong key customer relationships and for the pro-active identification of and preliminary positioning for business opportunities as well as the successful implementation of specific strategies that result in the growth of NSM’s service offering and client base.
Extensive experience in a Corporate or Business Development role within the Government and/or Defence sector with a proven record of winning new business;
Holds or has the ability to obtain an Australian Government Security Clearance
Preferably Degree qualified in a relevant discipline
In depth knowledge and awareness of the Australian defence industry generally and the maritime sector specifically and its changing nature
Experience in business development and marketing activities; with a sound understanding of sales and account management practices
Excellent negotiation and influencing skills
Demonstrated ability to work independently to organise and prioritise demands, handle multiple complex tasks simultaneously, set and meet deadlines and follow-through within a fast-paced environment with multiple and competing demands
MUST be an Australian Citizen & either hold, or be eligible to obtain an Australian Defence Security Clearance
