About the role

To support our continued growth into 2020, we are seeking an experienced Health & Wellbeing Advisor to join our Health and Wellbeing team. This position will be on a 8/6 roster at our Koolyanobbing site.

Reporting to our Health Services Manager, this role works with the Health Services Team and plays a key role in promotion of health and active lifestyle initiatives, musculoskeletal injury prevention, social event and village entertainment coordination and management of workplace injuries. The role will be responsible for the proactive health and active lifestyle promotion as well as providing assistance in the management of return to work issues, health monitoring, medical cases and safety support. 

With a passion for all things health and wellbeing, you will be well-versed in the creation and implementation of a variety of health and safety awareness programs, drawing on your background and experience to bring the very best of industry standards to MRL.

What we’re after

We’re looking for someone who is not afraid to roll up their sleeves and enjoys a challenging yet rewarding work environment. You will be responsible for;

  • Planning and implementation of health and recreation programs to all employees and village residents, including sporting competitions, group exercise classes and one-on-one training
  • Coordinate the musculoskeletal injury prevention program, review ergonomic and manual tasks and conduct field interactions
  • Administration and facilitation of return to work and health management plans in coordination with the Perth based Injury Management team.
  • Facilitation of monthly health and injury prevention topics, including workshops, seminars and toolbox topics
  • Providing nutritional advice, education and general health coaching and motivation for our staff
  • Coordination of all social, charity fundraising and recreational events
  • Coordination of the MRL Health Promotion calendar through coordination of all site based health and wellbeing initiatives and education packages.
  • General safety function support, including incident investigations, audits, health and hygiene assistance and field observations
  • What you’ll bring to the team


  • Hold a tertiary qualification in relevant allied health discipline or Certificate IV Fitness
  • 2 + years’ experience in a similar health and wellbeing function within a mining/resources environment
  • Strong knowledge in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
  • Valid WA “C” manual Driver’s License.
  • Desirable

  • Site based injury management experience
  • Safety qualification
  • Experience and certification in hygiene sampling
  • Competence in safety based data base systems (Injury Management register, Safety Management System etc.)
  • Demonstrated understanding and application of relevant legislation
  • Membership of relevant professional association
