We’re looking for an experienced legal professional who is collaborative, passionate and who consistently strives for better ways of working. 

Based at our National Head Office in Rochedale, this role reports into our Chief Financial Officer and you will be working alongside our external General Legal Counsel. 

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing commercially balanced legal advice to the business on all relevant issues with a particular focus on Contract Management (property/leasing/general) and Consumer Law

Responsibilities include:

  • Provision of legal advice to support the strategy and business activities;
  • Supporting and making submissions with respect to the relevant elements of the Australian legal framework, and managing and responding to regulatory matters;
  • Review, advise and negotiate agreements on behalf of the business to optimise business outcomes;
  • Provision of supplementary legal education to the business as a risk mitigation measure; &
  • Drafting and negotiating a variety of high-value agreements associated with the business. 
  • About you:

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar role;
  • Law degree mandatory, practicing in general commercial law;
  • Capability, experience and know how in the retail regulatory environments;
  • Superior attention to detail and ability to interpret regulatory elements;
  • Commercial, practical and solutions-based approach;
  • Ability to negotiate effectively; 
  • Willingness to be adaptive to the changing needs of the business; 
  • Ability to work both autonomously and cross-functionally particularly at the executive leadership level is essential;
  • Excellent communication both written and verbal; &
  • Ability to effectively influence both internal and external stakeholders are mandatory.
