Anglicare have an opportunity for a proactive Supervisor to work within our automated commercial laundry facility based at Glendenning.
You will be joining a Christian organisation with a history of service spanning over 160 years. We provide accommodation, care and community services to people at all stages of life and our Laundry facilities support our Residential Care residents through providing a specialised and quality laundry service. We provide laundry services to 22 Residential Care facilities across Sydney with over 2000 Residents, as well as providing laundry services to a range of external customers.
About the role:
The Laundry Supervisor will report into the Facility Manager and work closely alongside the Operations Manager to maintain and oversee the daily floor operations of Laundry workers. You will work closely with our Laundry team through empowering and supporting staff to work efficiently, safely and in a positive work environment.
You will be someone that seeks continuous improvements while embracing change and supporting staff through the change management process. Above all for this role, we are looking for a leader that is able to step in and work alongside your team to help them achieve their best, whether that is assisting on laundry stations, troubleshooting machines or discussing any concerns that staff may have.
Key responsibilities include:
•Ensure the efficient operation of laundry work stations throughout the facility by ensuring staff are effectively coordinated, trained and supported.
•Induct new staff and provide guidance on the production floor on how to safely use equipment.
•Working collaboratively with the Facility and Operations Manager ensuring to communicate any challenges, gaps or concerns identified on the production floor.
•Promote a positive work environment ensuring to provide empathy, patience and support to staff.
•Hands on delivery of proactive Health and Safety measures.
The successful candidate will possess:
•At least 2+ years’ Supervisory experience within a similar environment essential, with supervisory qualifications desirable.
•Supportive leadership style through empowering staff to work efficiently and effectively.
•Experience in providing proactive safety management.
•Highly developed communication and customer service skills when interacting with internal and external customers.
•High level organisational skills with the ability to multi task and prioritise tasks.
