About The Role

We currently have an opportunity for an experienced Learning and Development Officer to join the Learning and Development team based at our Cataby site.

Reporting to the Senior Learning & Development Specialist, this position is accountable for the implementation of the annual Learning and Development (L&D) program, including delivery of training programs, as well as leading key learning and development projects to improve the consistency and efficiency of practice. This permanent role is offered on a 5/2/4/3 roster based at the mine site with full camp facilities provided.

Key responsibilities include:

actively promoting Health, Safety, Environment and Community (HSEC) as an essential component of attraction, alignment and development of employees;

partnering with internal subject matter experts, stakeholders and business leaders to ensure learning strategies and solutions are developed and implemented, in alignment with business needs;

conducting a Training Needs Analysis (TNA) to identify specific training needs for site;

mapping the annual L&D program and develop the annual training calendar to align with shifts and rosters;

designing, resourcing and delivering technical and non-technical L&D initiatives and training materials, including presentations, training notes, assessments and any procedures that support the creation of this material;

assisting the business to identify, track and meet the compliance, competency assurance and personal development requirements of teams and individuals;

ensuring course policy forms, assessments and schedules are available and maintained in the learning management system (LMS);

participating in regular audit activities to ensure compliance against internal and regulatory requirements;

regularly reviewing the results of assessments, feedback and audits, as well as inputs from other internal learning activities to provide a solutions focused approach to improving Iluka’s learning offering and development intervention; and

consulting with relevant stakeholders across the business to ensure effective management and monitoring of annual training budget. 

About You

To be successful for this role, you will have:

Certificate IV in Training and Assessing is essential.

Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline will be highly regarded.

Proven experience in a similar position.

An understanding of key legislation related to mandatory training compliance and governance at operational sites.

Strong communication, interpersonal, influencing and customer service skills.

Excellent time management, problem solving skills and close attention to detail.

A continuous improvement mindset.

Strong computer literacy skills and digitally savvy.
