The Opportunity:We have an opportunity for an enthusiastic and professional Legal Project Manager to join our global Ashurst Advance Division in our Ashurst Advance Delivery practice based in either Brisbane, Melbourne or Sydney.This role is responsible for working closely with clients, partners, lawyers and business professionals to manage the efficient delivery of legal services. Primarily this will involve legal matters but will also include some internal firm projects and initiatives to further drive efficiency and profitability.This is a client and business facing role and will also involve significant interaction with internal stakeholders.The full job description is attached below. Main responsibilities:Key responsibilities include: Support Client Relationship Partners and Business Development with pitching through the provision of high-level scoping, scheduling, resourcing and pricing expertise. Support the Responsible Partner by working in consultation with the client, legal team and business services to project manage matters Develop and manage trackers for large volume legal reviews such as due diligence and discovery. Provide specialist project management advice to partners and legal teams on particular aspects of legal matters. Arrange post-closing matter reviews and lessons learned exercises. Consult with legal teams and practice groups to identify LPM improvements and helping embed the improvements in practice. Work in collaboration with the other Ashurst Advance teams, Expertise and other business services staff to implement a range of initiatives to improve efficiency and profitability. Provide project management and process improvement services to clients. Contribute to the internal and external profile raising of our LPM team and the broader Ashurst Advance division. Desired Skills and Experience: To succeed in this role you will need: At least three years of project management experience in consultancy or professional services firms Experience of working within the legal industry Experience of the whole project lifecycle and covering scoping, scheduling, costing, resourcing, communications, quality and risk Change management and process improvement experience Excellent client facing skills along with a track record of establishing and maintaining effective relationships with stakeholders at all levels Excellent presentation, written, communication and interpersonal skills Advanced organisational and influencing skills, flexibility of style, attention to detail and ability to multi-task in a fast-paced, high pressured, detail-oriented environment High degree of initiative and independent judgment with excellent troubleshooting, decision-making and follow-through skills Excellent IT skills, in particular Microsoft Project, Excel and PowerPoint PMI® PMP or equivalent project management certificationsAt Ashurst, you’ll have the opportunity to work in an environment that encourages learning and excellence with some of Australia’s leading professionals.
