The Role

Reporting to the Director, Governance Strategy and Digital Technology, the Manager Strategy Governance Policy and Risk is responsible for leading a broad range of work and projects across the organisation. Management of CECWA meetings, System Agreement audits and negotiations, CECWA policy development and implementation, as well as risk management functions across all CEWA are core responsibilities. The position has oversight of and is supported by a small dynamic team.

The Opportunity

Expressions of interest from CEWA Ltd staff are sought for this short-term opportunity to cover a period of leave. Commencing in late October for a period of three months, this role will be responsible for key activities during a demanding time of year.

Responsibilities will include:

  • CECWA meeting management (November, December, and February) – including agenda setting, reviewing meeting papers, taking minutes and actions arising, preparing the
    Executive Director’s Report
  • Non-Diocesan School Governance Working Party and associated work
  • Co-ordinating actions from CEWA’s Annual Audit of Compliance
  • Participating in the negotiation of the System Agreement with State government for next year
  • Policy Implementation Project – key stages include finalising the drafts, consulting with stakeholders, finalising site development, preparing training modules, in anticipation of launch in January 2021
  • Project work focused on the pre-conditions of Quality Catholic Education (QCE)
  • Tasks as required by the Executive Director, Deputy Executive Director and Director Governance, Strategy and Digital Technology.
  • Your Background

    The successful person will be required to lead and oversee all functions of the team and it’s members. The role requires a highly professional and organised quick learner who has a broad knowledge of governance functions and requirements for CEWA. The role requires someone who can operate effectively at both a strategic and operational level in order to ensure all components of the work are completed. Highly developed communication skills are essential.
