This is an opportunity to join a dynamic environment where you will play a key role in delivering on strategic objectives and advancing the organisations digital transformation.  We are seeking a curious, energetic and business focused individual to build analytics capability through the collection, management, analysis and visualisation of Open Universities’ platform data.

As a self-professed data specialist, you will be in a highly visible role where you can flex your analytics muscle in top tier analytics tools, creating and sharing consumer demand insights, curating new platform opportunities and just asking good questions to encourage thought.

Data and insights are vital to delivering on our platform strategy, and as a result this role will be central in achieving business objectives through delivery of the following outcomes:

  • Lead market and customer research and analysis
  • Support and deliver data collection to common locations
  • Ensure consistent storage, summary and publishing of research and insights
  • Maintain framework for aligning insights with work
  • Oversee freshness and reliability of insights

In this role you will enable our partner and portfolio teams to combine and leverage platform, market, customer and competitor insights to curate and prioritise new opportunities for growth.

Skills, knowledge and experience:

5+ years’ customer insights experience, using a range of quantitative, qualitative and/or Tertiary degree is required with disciplines such as Market Research, Economics, Data Insights or Statistics.

  • Experience in generating actionable insights from a range of data sets
  • Experience in consultations and presentation to a range of stakeholders
  • Experience across innovative research techniques or research methods
  • Specific analytical role generating insights for particular stakeholders
  • Strong in SQL scripting and familiar with programing languages, Python, JavaScript
  • Working knowledge of data warehouse processes and practices including data lakes, data marts and ETL patterns.
  • Data visualisation solutions such as GoodData, PowerBI, Excel Powerpivot etc
  • Curious mind, able to think creatively through complex problems and discover the best path
  • Strong ownership of problems and consultative approach to business partnering
  • Resilient, flexible and comfortable working with ambiguity
