Job Description

To be considered for any of the above roles you will need to demonstrate following:

The Mechanical Estimator will be responsible for

  • Overseeing the requirements of mechanical, structural and piping works for specific projects.
  • Provides technical support during all phases of the projects to meet the operational requirements and standards, and that work is undertaken within the scope
  • Coordination of bids, estimates and tenders for the Eastern Australia region, including assessment of scope of work and all documentation associated with tendering for works.
  • Analyse drawings, specifications, proposals, and other documentation to prepare time, cost, and labour estimates for products, projects, or services by performing the following duties.
  • Review tender documentation to determine scope and specific terms and conditions.
  • Obtain competitive quotes for the provision of necessary materials and services.
  • Undertake accurate material take-offs and man hour calculations.
  • Accurately calculate man-hours.
  • Collate material take-offs and job costs into clear, well structured spreadsheets.
  • Partake in tender reviews with senior management
  • Assist in preparing professional tender submission documents such as Methodology Statements, Project Schedules and Management Plans in line with client and Company requirements.
  • Essential requirements

  • Trade background
  • Minimum of five years previous estimating and quoting experience in heavy metals fabrication industry, preferably for the oil and gas industry
  • Excellent knowledge and use of Microsoft Office suite including Excel, Word and MS Project
  • Great time management, organizational and multi-tasking skills
  • Strong communication and client relationship building skills
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment medical assessment
  • Desired requirements

  • Have completed a Mechanical Engineering degree
  • Quantity Survey qualification
