We are currently seeking an experienced Mine Surveyor Mining to join our team at Dugald River Mine.

Reporting to the Senior Mine Surveyor in the Mining Technical Services Department, you will be responsible for advising and to assist in all activities and requirements of surveying on site. In this role you will ensure the provision of accurate and timely information to customers to meet or exceed customer requirements thus providing a reliable spatial information service in a safe and timely manner.

Your key responsibilities within the role will include:

  • Co-ordinate and undertake daily survey functions such as drive pickups, installing lasers, producing mining instruction memos, CMS’s(Cavity Monitoring Surveys), diamond drill hole set-outs, blast ring mark-ups, producing plans, installation of survey control and processing of survey data to a high standard.
  • Complete tasks in a safe and efficient manner
  • Ensure compliance with site and mine department standards
  • Ensure all mine plans are kept up to date in accordance with statutory requirements
  • Ensure the information required by operations to conform with mine designs is provided in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Measure work activities and provide information to Mine Technical Services and other customers as required
  • Provide surveying service and accurate information to other internal customers as required
  • Maintain systems and records of survey information
  • To be successful in this role, you will have a minimum 2 years underground Survey experience a strong commitment to safe work practices. The below skills and experience will help you to succeed in this great role.

  • Surface surveying experience.
  • Experience using Leica total stations
  • CAD Mining software experience.
  • GPS understanding and experience.
  • Understanding of survey control.
  • Microsoft office experience.
  • Deswik software
  • Trimble GPS R7/ R8
  • UAV / drone experience
  • Further Qualifications and Licences required for this role;

  • A Degree in Mine Surveying and/ or Diploma of Engineering and Mine Surveying.
  • Current driver’s license.
  • This role is based on an 8/6 roster, drive in drive out from Cloncurry or Mount Isa or fly in fly out from Townsville (we may consider Brisbane as a commute base to site. Relocation support will be available for successful candidates who reside outside of the local region who wish to relocate to the Cloncurry or Mount Isa districts)

    Remuneration for this role includes a competitive salary package and an annual bonus. On-site accommodation and travel to Dugald River is provided in fully air-conditioned en suite rooms and includes meal service and room cleaning. The new village features, communal media facilities including 4G coverage, onsite Medical Centre, sporting, brand new swimming pool and gym facilities.
