Job Description

Apex Logistics Solutions is a national freight transfer service provider. We are currently seeking skilled and experienced truck drivers to assist in our expanding operations.


  • Drive allocated vehicles in a safe and timely manner
  • Undertake vehicle inspections before each rostered shift in line with the Company’s procedures and complete required documentation
  • Maintaining regular condition reports for vehicles, carefully documenting any damages
  • Notify supervisors of any vehicle maintenance requirements, including reporting any damage or break down issues with the vehicles
  • Plan and organise servicing and repairs for vehicles as necessary
  • Maintain vehicles in a clean and tidy state at all times
  • Maintain a clear driving record and keep abreast with all current road rules
  • Update logbooks and run sheets at the end of each day/run as per the advised format
  • Notify management of any discrepancies with transport runs or time frames
  • Load, unload and secure goods inside the vehicles
  • Assist with other general warehouse duties and all-rounder manual work as required
  • Assist and liaise with customers in a courteous and professional manner
  • Work professionally and cohesively with other team members
  • Regularly monitor stock levels for consumable supplies and place orders as necessary
  • Generate invoices and assist in the collection of payments
  • Assist in the training of newly inducted team members
  • Requirements

  • Light Rigid (LR) Driver Licence or higher necessary; Medium Rigid (MR) preferred
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience driving trucks with a clean driving record
  • Physically fit and capable of carrying out manual labouring duties if required
  • Willing to provide a police check and undergo random drug testing
  • Willing to work overtime (including weekends and holidays) during busy periods
  • Professional with a great attitude and strong work ethic; good verbal and written communication skills
  • Reliable, punctual and self-motivated with strong commitment to responsibilities; sound time management skills
  • Excellent at following instruction and directives; safety minded and compliant with Company policies
  • Ability to work autonomously and within a team; flexible & adaptive to change whilst working in a team
  • Customer service orientated with great attention to detail and strong organisational skills
  • Numeracy and literacy standards at least at par with those associated with Year 10 or better; ability to use essential business software
  • Able to complete all necessary documentation (such as day sheets, preparation & signing of dockets, accounting related tasks)
