Opal Aged Care is one of Australia’s largest aged care providers, with 78 homes across four states and employs a team of over 8,500 nationally. Opal has one of the strongest growth trajectories in the industry with ten new aged care homes scheduled to open in the next two years.
Reporting to the Director of Clinical Services and based at our Sydney CBD Home Office, we are seeking a National Quality Advisor to join our Quality Team. The purpose of the role is to develop, support implementation, monitor and review a quality management system that is consistent with Opal Aged Care quality governance framework; and ensure ongoing compliance with relevant legislation, regulatory requirements, professional and industry standards and guidelines. This position is a senior clinician and advisor to the business within clinical risk and quality improvement and compliance.
To be successful in this role, you will be able to demonstrate the following:

  • Minimum 5 year in management in Health or Aged Care. Post graduate qualifications in gerontology, Health/Business Management also highly desirable
  • At least 5 years’ experience in nursing, risk and compliance (health care) or health management; preferably in the aged care sector.
  • An extensive understanding and passion for the aged care sector and resident rights
  • The ability to act as a Clinical advisor to the organisation and an escalation point for quality compliance
  • Excellent stakeholder skills to collaborate with national operations and information technology team to develop, revise and promote effective national care information, systems & processes.
  • A strategic thinker with strong analytical skills to critically appraise and oversee the maintenance and ongoing improvement of quality risk management systems
  • A true passion for care, continuous quality improvement and the aged care industry.
  • An ability to travel on regular basis and at short notice is a requirement of this position. 
    All applicants must be willing to obtain a police clearance certificate via Opal’s police check system and undergo pre-employment medical. You may also be required to attend a drug screen and complete psychometric testing.

    Please note: a current flu vaccination will also be required for you to work in our homes.
