  • About the Role

    Working for this leading organisation moving through considerable change, you will have the ability to help drive security processes and protect critical infrastructure across the business.

    As the network Security Administrator, you will ensure the network’s security, protect against unauthorised access, modification, or destruction, and troubleshoot any access problems.

    Ideally, you possesses experience managing an ISMS with strong skills across Firewalls, Load Balancer and SIEM platforms. Furthermore, you will have an understanding of the segregation of devices from the network.

    Key Accountabilities

  • Security administration activities including the support of firewalls, load balancers, web application gateways, web proxy servers, virtual private networks (VPN), intrusion detection systems (IDS), mail filtering and virus scanning products;
  • Management and administration of SIEM platform;
  • Conduct security risk assessments and undertake routine vulnerability scanning;
  • Administer the ISMS to track and manage risks, patching and other routine events that impact security;
  • Monitor threat landscape and report emerging issues to the wider Infrastructure team;
  • Conduct gap analyses of ICT security and implement strategies to address any areas of concern identified; and
  • Preparation of documentation on configuration and procedures for security systems.
  • Technical Skills

  • Plan, install, configure and optimize IT infrastructure to achieve high availability and performance;
  • Clear understanding of segregation and segmentation of networks;
  • Palo Alto Firewall Administration and Support (or equivalent);
  • F5 Load Balancer Administration and Support (or equivalent); and
  • Administering and monitoring a SIEM (Preferably AlienVault).
  • Experience / Qualifications

  • Security or Network related certifications would be advantageous (e.g. CISSP, CISM, CCNA);
  • Securing and monitoring external access environments; and
  • Understanding of web-based security.
